ERMA and ICD Join Forces to Advance Corporate Governance Practices
Manila, September 19, 2024 – The Enterprise Risk Management Academy (ERMA) and the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) have signed a formal collaboration agreement to promote and strengthen corporate governance practices across the Philippines. The signing took place during the Global Governance Summit at the Manila Marriott Hotel, where key representatives from both organizations were present.
This partnership marks a significant step toward aligning efforts in promoting enterprise risk management and better corporate governance. ERMA and ICD will work together to deliver training, certification programs, and various initiatives aimed at enhancing the capabilities of corporate boards and executives. By combining resources, the two organizations seek to improve corporate governance frameworks and risk management strategies in the country.
The collaboration is part of a broader mission to equip corporate leaders with the necessary tools and knowledge to make informed decisions, manage risks effectively, and promote transparency within their organizations. Through shared programs, ERMA and ICD will provide education and guidance to corporate boards, helping them to better understand and manage risks in an increasingly complex business environment.
“At ERMA, we recognize that the evolving global risk landscape demands a new level of preparedness and agility from corporate leaders. By partnering with the Institute of Corporate Directors, we aim to equip board directors and executives with the tools and knowledge necessary to navigate complex risks effectively,” said Aldi Ardilo, CERG, Executive Director of ERMA. “This collaboration aligns with our vision to spread risk literacy because, at the end of the day, it’s not just about managing risks, but about making informed decisions and taking risks effectively.”
This agreement is also supported by The DCRO Institute, which promotes best practices for managing risks at the board level. Although their role is more focused on risk management, its involvement in this collaboration adds value to the broader goals of governance improvement.
The partnership was featured in the Philippine Star on September 27, 2024, in the business section, highlighting the importance of the agreement in promoting better governance standards and corporate responsibility.
Moving forward, ERMA and ICD will begin implementing joint programs that include certifications, workshops, and professional development for corporate leaders. Both organizations are committed to driving improvements in governance that will foster more sustainable and responsible business practices in the Philippines.
